School categorisation

As you are aware the Welsh Government this week published the National School Categorisation and in so doing awarded Glan-y-Môr a ‘Yellow School’ status; the second highest category . We are justifiably proud of this achievement since it reflects excellent results over the last  year.  It also demonstrates a significant improvement in the school’s standing educationally, identifying it as an “Effective School”, with high levels of learner outcomes. We hope that with sustained effort and continued commitment from all concerned that Glan-y-Môr will achieve ‘Green’ status next year. This continued achievement is down to two key factors:

1.    The sense of community and team work that exists between parents, pupils,
       staff and governors

2.    A simple vision for quality education based on the 3As Attendance, Attitude and
       Achievement.  These successful outcomes I am sure will equip our learners for
       every success in further education, employment and training and give them the
       very best start in life - Thank you everybody!
