Welcome to / Croeso i Ysgol Glan-y-Môr School

Glan-y-Môr School is set in its own beautiful and extensive grounds in Burry Port along the Carmarthenshire Millennium Coastal Path. We are constantly striving for excellence in standards, teaching and learning and are proud of our exceptionally friendly approach to pastoral care, support and guidance for all our pupils.

Our academic results are consistently high and we endeavour to provide the best possible education for all. Our aim is to equip each pupil with the skills and personal qualities necessary to take them forward in their lives, wherever that may lead. Glan-y-Môr School is an 11-16 school of approximately 550 pupils.

Our highly committed staff, both teaching and non-teaching, dedicate many hours to ensure our pupils receive and achieve their very best and become well-rounded, model citizens. We are proud of the varied and vibrant extra-curricular life of the school which enriches the experiences of our pupils.

There are a large number of extra curricular activities on offer after school and we are very proud that these are all well supported. Glan-y-Môr pupils have an excellent reputation in the community for outstanding behaviour and courtesy.

Our school is a happy school and it is important to us that our pupils enjoy themselves as they learn. We work in partnership and federation with Ysgol Bryngwyn School, Llanelli which enriches the opportunities and experiences available to pupils. Estyn inspections show many good and outstanding features. Literacy and Numeracy are very high on our priorities for raising achievement and tackling disadvantage across both schools.
