Year 10 & 11 Geography pupils climb Pen-y-Fan
On Friday 19th October sixty Year 10 and 11 GCSE Geography pupils walked to the summit of PenyFan. All pupils wore items of pink clothing and every member of the group could be recognised by the pink bobble hat on their head, a colour linked to cancer research that they were walking in aid of. The walk was in memory of long serving member of staff Miss Lynne Russell who sadly passed away during the summer. The event was part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raising funds for Cancer Research.
Mr Richard Davies said “Miss Russell was a very special person and teacher and meant so much to us at Glan-y-Môr. She would have loved to be with us today and I am so proud of the efforts of our pupils in pushing themselves to the top and also for raising money for a great cause. It’s just another example of what makes Glan-y-Môr such a special school."
