Duke of Edinburgh Expedition - Saturday 4th July
On the weekend of 9th and 10th July our Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award group braved the rain to complete their practice expedition at Kennexstone Farm near Llangennith.
The practice was an opportunity for the young people to use their navigation skills, set up camp and cook food for both the evening and morning. It also gave them a chance to reflect before their actual expedition on what went well and what didn't. Pupils were led by School Youth Worker Jo Rogers and was overseen by the Carmarthenshire Duke Of Edinburgh Co-Ordinator Alison Owen-Yeates. Both Deputy Headteacher, Mr Stuart James and Head of PE, Mr Phil Davidson camped for the evening and assisted. Thanks to Mrs Debbie Parry, Teacher of History who lives locally to the campsite who brought freshly baked cake for the troops.
