A Musical Journey Through the Decades at Glan-y-Môr

On Thursday 24th September, pupils at Glan-y-Môr were treated to a truly spectacular musical experience when Carmarthenshire County Music Service brought their exciting music tour to the school.

Our Year 7 pupils, together with pupils from our two wonderful partner primary schools, enjoyed an unforgettable concert packed with music, energy and plenty of fun!

The performance was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to explore the world of music. They were introduced to a variety of musical instruments and learned more about the elements of music, developing their understanding of how musicians use rhythm, melody, dynamics, tempo and other musical features to create exciting performances.

What made the concert particularly special was the incredible musical journey through the decades. There was something for everyone, with music spanning generations and styles. From the powerful sounds of Bonnie Tyler to the legendary music of Michael Jackson, and right through to the hugely popular world of K-Pop Demon Hunters, pupils were taken on a whirlwind tour of musical styles and eras.

A huge thank you to Carmarthenshire County Music Service for putting on such a wonderful concert and inspiring our pupils with your passion, talent and enthusiasm.

We would also like to extend a very warm thank you to Pembrey Primary School and Burry Port Primary School for joining us and helping to make the event such a memorable occasion.

Inspired to Make Music?

If the concert has inspired you to learn an instrument, join a musical group or find out more about the musical opportunities available at Glan-y-Môr, please contact Mrs Carter in the Music Department to find out what is on offer.

Who knows… perhaps the next musical star to take the stage could be one of our very own pupils!
