ASDAN’s Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) guarantees capability in six underpinning skills:
Working with Others;
Improving own Learning and Performance (Independent Learning);
Problem Solving;
Research;
Discussion;
Oral Presentation.
Learners develop these skills for learning, employment and life through the personal challenges that make up the CoPE curriculum.
LEVEL OF COURSE: Level 1 & 2 EXAMINATION BODY: ASDAN
WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I GET?
Certificate of Personal Effectiveness.
WHY STUDY COPE?
You will follow the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness Level 1 /2 course.
You will study 12 modules in years 10 /11. Each module should take you 10 hours to complete and is worth 1 credit. You will need at least twelve credits to gain the certificate.
You will choose sections which will be interesting and useful to you.

HOW WILL THE COURSE BE TAUGHT?
Pupils are taught five lessons a fortnight and challenges are set which require ten hours of study to achieve one credit.
You will complete tasks that will improve your basic skills e.g. working with others, improving own learning, problem solving, research, communication and giving an oral presentation.
ASSESSMENT:
Students produce a portfolio of evidence, which should demonstrate competence in the six CoPE skills units at the appropriate level. These portfolios are then internally moderated by centre staff, before being externally moderated by ASDAN at a regional moderation meeting.
Is there an exam ? NO
Pupils portfolios will be entered for level 1 (Grade GCSE equivalent) OR Level 2 (B grade GCSE equivalent)
